Facilitated unique and interactive online content on NENi sites: www.berkshireeagle.com, www.thetranscript.com, www.benningtonbanner.com, www.reformer.com. Ensured that NENi Websites incorporated the MNG Interactive Strategy and the MNGi Content Standards of Performance into each site. Was the face of interactive in the newsrooms, responsible for building relationships with the editors and reporters and attending budget meetings. Role was to suggest and guide online and interactive story-telling. Kept both the editorial management and NENi Interactive and MNGi management informed on all site content developments and issues, traffic successes and failures and top stories. Made sure that all stories published in the print editions appeared on the Web sites. Ensured that all deadlines were met and managed the presentation of the content on the sites. Established all procedures needed for material to flow smoothly and trained newsroom staff as needed to ensure procedures were followed. Established procedure and editorial lineup for site day-parting, including developing necessary design, technology and editorial elements to facilitate the strategy. Established procedures for the placement and updating of breaking news on the sites, and handled such events when they occurred. Was responsible equally with the online sales/marketing manager for the growth in the number of page views and unique visitors on the site. Was responsible for working with search optimization companies and techniques to achieve online traffic growth. Was responsible for development of newsletter strategy with the online sales manager and evaluation of technology to achieve those goals, including return-on-investment expense evaluations.

Was involved with strategic partnership deals and integrated news delivery, e-commerce and community participation in a dynamic Web venture. Promoted localized Web solutions. Trained the newspaper group's other online staff members. Eventually saw one of those staff members take over my responsibilities when I was asked to move into the newsroom as Online Editor in line with changing corporate goals.
